-----Archiving
DoFiles 2.5 [DFILES25] (James Huckabey, reg. fee: $0) archives files with
extensions of the same name using original file names. It can process up to
2000 records at one time. Original files are erased after the archive is
created. Requires PKZIP.
Lodji Utility Program 1.02 [LUP] (David W. Roscoe, reg. fee: $30) is a
directory and archive viewer, file extractor, and file manager. It displays
the contents of directories and archive files. You can view the contents of
files, in directories, archive files, or subdirectories inside of archive
files. It also supports nested or embedded archives. Other features include
multiple directory viewing, file extraction, and file copying, deletion and
renaming. Requires 400K of disk space, 640K RAM, and an archive program.
ARC, LZH, ZIP, and ZOO are supported.
RVS - RView Shell 1.12 [RVS] (Raymond T. Kaya, reg. fee: $0) is a shell for
viewing and extracting the contents of several archive types. It supports
ARC, ARJ, HYP, LZH, LZS, PAK, SQZ, ZIP and ZOO. It will display either ZIP
or LZH style compression ratios.

and stores files in an archive.

FileSafe 1.01 [FLSF] (JAYAR Systems, ASP; reg. fee: $29) is a virus
protection program which records a 128-bit check message for all programs
on a disk and the boot record of the disk. Subsequently, it checks to make
sure the originals have not changed by comparing them to the check message.
Trojans & Viruses 1.0 [TROJAN] (Nibasoft, reg. fee: $0) contains facts
about many viruses and trojan horses.

scanner. NEW: It now scans for more than 3400 virus signatures, not

(U1-02) Clean-Up 9.23V1.12 [CLEANUP] (McAfee Associates, reg. fee: $15-30)
kills and removes computer viruses, and in most instances it repairs
infected files, re-constructs damaged programs and returns the system to
normal operation. NEW: identification of all viruses detected by the
current version of Viruscan.
(U1-02) F-Prot 2.11 [FPROT] (Frisk Software International, reg. fee: $0)
scans disks, hard drives, and all network drives for viruses. NEW:
identifies 51 new viruses.
(U1-02) ViruScan 9.23V112 [SCAN] (McAfee Associates, Inc., reg. fee: $25)
scans diskettes or entire systems and identifies any pre-existing PC virus
infection. NEW: detection of 63 new viruses and 81 variants.
-----Batch File Utilities
BatchMaker Plus 2.6 [BTMK26] (Northland Multisoft, ASP; reg. fee: $28)
provides a shell for creating and managing batch files and executing
several popular DOS commands.
DIRTest 1.0 [DIRTEST] (Chris Sanders, reg. fee: $0) lets you test for the
existence of a specified directory from within a batch file.
EQO 1.0 [EQO10] (Jeremy Sawicki, reg. fee: $0-5) is a replacement for DOS'
echo command which allows you to echo to the screen DOS symbols that would
otherwise not be allowed. It can also echo the current time and date,
current drive letter, ASCII control characters, ANSI sequences, and more.
EscRun 1.01 [ESCDEM] (Paradigm Software, reg. fee: $10) will pause during
your AUTOEXEC.BAT execution for a specified number of seconds and prompt
you to press the ESC key to run a program. If the prompt is ignored, the
batch file will continue without running the program.
GetColor 2.0 [GETCOLOR] (Richard B. Simpson, reg. fee: $0) detects and
saves screen colors at the beginning of a batch file and resets them at the
end of the batch file. It's designed for those who write batch files using
ansi.sys to make them colorful.
Path_Man 1.1 [PATH_114] (MicroMetric, ASP; reg. fee: $) will search the
directories in your defined Path for a specified file and set Errorlevel
based on the results.
PicSee 1.0 [PICSEE] (John De Palma., reg. fee: $0) displays PCX and GIF
files from batch files. QuickBasic source code is included.
WaitFor 1.1 [WAITFR11] (James Huckabey, reg. fee: $) lets you add delays to
batch files.

for use with batch files. It provides a point-and-shoot menu with up to 26

menu controlled branching within the AUTOEXEC or other batch files.

to perform tasks at designated times. NEW: fixed problem with computer lock

easily create menu listings and batch files.
(U1-03) ShowLogo 2.0 [SHOWLOG] (Desert Frog Software, reg. fee: $23) lets
you create a self-displaying graphics screen that will display until any
non-alpha (eg: Ctrl or Shift) key is pressed. NEW: detects when
telecommunications are active, as well as when SVGA modes are in use.
(U1-03) Steenburgh's Stuff 3.01 [SSTUFF30] (Tay-Jee Software, ASP; reg.
fee: $20-30) contains many useful utilities for batch files.
-----Disk & Drive Utilities
CMDisk 1.0 [CMDISK] (NoVaSoft, ASP; reg. fee: $5-8) is a set of utilities
for duplicating, formatting, and scanning diskettes.
DiskCopy 1.0 [DISKCOPY] (Feico Nater Shareware, ASP; reg. fee: $5) allows
you to copy diskettes without disk-swapping and without formatting the
destination disk.
Driv_Man 1.20 [DMAN120] (MicroMetric, ASP; reg. fee: $25) displays usage
data for up to 26 drives, including logical and network drives. It will
display information such as, drive capacity, used and free memory, a graph
of usage for each drive, volume label, etc. The display data may also be
recorded to a file.
FCopy 1.0 [FCOPY_CS] (CompSoft Services, reg. fee: $14) will copy any size
file to disk. If the file is to large to fit on destination disk, the
program will prompt the user for another disk. FCopy can then be used to
reassemble the original file.
FlopTool 1.0 [FLOPTOOL] (Feico Nater, ASP; reg. fee: $15) reads anything
there is on a floppy disk, whether it is a DOS disk or not. The results are
written as a ASCII-file on your hard disk.
FootPrint 1.4 [FOOTPT14] (Jim Olsen, ASP; reg. fee: $26) will monitor drive
activity and report on modified, added and missing files so you can see
what happened to a file, what an install program did, or what software
changed on your PC. It can be useful for removing unused files and
uninstalling programs.
Universal Format 1.02 [OS9FMT] (Wilfried Weigelt, reg. fee: $0) will format
OS9 floppy disks on an MSDOS system. The common OS9 format uses double
density disks with 79 to 80 tracks and 16 sectors per track. The sector
size is 256 bytes. C source code is included.
VGA-Copy-Pro - German 6.0 [VGACOPYG] (Thomas Moenkemeier, reg. fee: $40) is
a German language version of a fast one-pass disk copy and format program.
It will format up to 2.88MB disks including special formats like 1.74MB.
Requires EGA/VGA and mouse. Sound effects can be heard with the use of a
Soundblaster compatible sound card.
Willow Creek Diskette Duplicator 1.0 [WDDUPE] (Willow Creek Software, reg.
fee: $29) duplicates and checks floppy diskettes. It supports 360K, 720K,
1.2M, and 1.44M diskettes. It can save diskette images on your hard disk
for convenience, and it checks diskettes two ways - BIOS level track by
track verify, and DOS level file scan to insure all files are present,
readable, and correct.

one-pass disk duplicating utility. NEW: a file manager for accessing image
files, command line help.
(U1-04) DF 3.53 [DF] (Mark Vitt, reg. fee: $20) creates an image of a
floppy on your hard disk for production diskette copying.
(U1-04) EZ-DiskCopy PRO 3.30b [EZCP330B] (EZX Publishing & Distributing,
reg. fee: $136) is a disk duplication utility that includes serialization,
bypassing of BIOS for speed, compression of file images, and more. NEW:
TidyDisk now included.
(U1-04) Meg 3.2 [MEG32] (Jim Tolliver, reg. fee: $12) displays a pie and
bar chart of total space, free space, spaced used, and percent free for
hard and floppy disks. NEW: mouse support, skips unreadable drives, change
drives by command, reads CD-ROM and remote drives.
-----Directory Listers/Editors
Disk-At-A-Glance Lite 1.0 [DAAGLIT] (Steve Leonard, reg. fee: $0-20) will
display a directory tree, complete with number of bytes in use, cumulative
size of directory, and hidden and read only directories.
"D" 4.11 [FOUND411] (Foundation Software, Inc., reg. fee: $15) is a DIR
replacement and other commands. It will list and count files based on a
searchname that allows the use of imbedded pattern matching and multiple
searchname patterns. It can be used to selectively count file sizes. It
searches current, current and subordinate directories, or the entire disk.
Files can be displayed in your choice of five different sort orders. It
works entirely from DOS command line. It supports any display including
LCD. It autoscales itself to lines and columns of your current character
display mode, and the display can be configured to your preferences.
LF 1.0 [LF] (Steven Bohne, reg. fee: $6) lets you create a directory
listing, along with file sizes and descriptions, which can be displayed at
the DOS prompt.
Paging Directory 3.1 [PDIR31] (Thomas G. Bohon Consulting, reg. fee: $10)
is a sorted directory utility which also displays attributes assigned to
each file, current date and time, number of files, disk space usage, and
volume label.

rewrite directories by name, by extension, or by date/time and size, in
ascending or descending order. NEW: fixed compatibility problem with file

(U1-05) Eddy 7j [EDDY7J] (John Scofield, ASP; reg. fee: $25) is a
full-screen directory editor and general purpose disk utility.
-----File Changing, Copying, Deleting
AddComma 1.0 [ADDCOMMA] (Frank Font, reg. fee: $0) converts fixed column
formatted files to comma delimited format for importing into Excel.
BigSort 1.02 [BSORT102] (MeadowBrook Industries, Ltd, ASP; reg. fee: $20)
sorts files of any size, handles various record formats, including fixed
and variable length, dBASE, and comma delimited records. The Sorting keys
can be customized to contain up to 8 fields, each with independent length,
byte ordering, and case sensitivity fields. Up to 8 input files can be used
with a single output file.
ChangeIt 1.1 [CHNGIT11] (James Huckabey, reg. fee: $0) allows you to change
any file date and time without the read-only attribute set. You can change
any system or hidden files, one file, a series or even whole directories.
Clean0 1.0 [CLEAN0] (BlueBonnet Software, reg. fee: $10) removes files that
contain 0 bytes.
ComeBack 3.0 [COMEBACK] (MicroTools Inc, ASP; reg. fee: $25) will recover
up to 1000 files that have been deleted, copied over, or edited. It
consists of a TSR, consuming less than 15k of memory, which keeps track of
recoverable files and a utility for recovering files. The program will
allow you to include or exclude up to 20 file extensions and define a list
of files which will be either excluded or included.
ConvertRFT 1.02 [CVRFT102] (CrossCourt Systems, ASP; reg. fee: $20) will
convert IBM DCA/RFT (Revisable Form Text) files to ASCII. It can drop soft
returns or convert them to hard returns, expand tabs to spaces or retain
them, drop other unwanted spaces, and mark font attributes such as underlining.
File Description Editor 1.0 [FDE100] (Earl R. Davidson, reg. fee: $10) is
an editor for 4DOS style file descriptions of up to 200 characters in
length. It features wordwrap, block edit functions, and mouse support. 4DOS
is not required.
Secret 1.0 [SECRET] (John De Palma, reg. fee: $0) is a simple file
encrypting tool.
WDel 1.6 [WDEL16] (GoatEye Software, reg. fee: $0) irretrievably deletes files.
Zero 4.30 [ZERO_430] (James Huckabey, reg. fee: $0) makes zero length
files. (Note: You can also make a zero length file by entering REM >
FILENAME at the DOS promput.)

programmable text-file parsing utility. NEW: commands to break up long
input lines and fixed-length, non-text files.
(U1-06) Split 6.0g [SPLIT6] (M. Dingacci, reg. fee: $0) divides a file into
smaller files at specified points.
(U1-06) TXT2EXE 2.2 [TXTEXE] (John De Palma, reg. fee: $0) creates
self-displaying files from ASCII text files. NEW: will sense your video
type and display accordingly.
-----File Cataloging
4Cat 1.30 [4CAT13] (Earl R. Davidson, reg. fee: $10) allows you to maintain
a database of disk files and search the database to locate a particular
file. It will track free disk space on each disk cataloged, allowing you to
find a disk with enough space to store a particular file.
List Manager 1.0 [LISTMANG] (Moore Software, reg. fee: $5) tracks shareware
files. It creates a text file of four columns with 28 entries, and features
automatic alphabetizing, edit, and delete functions.
MyDisks 1.22 [MYDISK] (Kacy & Fournier Software, reg. fee: $6) helps you
keep your floppy disks in order by providing a database listing of your
disks and files. It allows you to search for files and find a floppy disk
with the required free disk space to record them on.

(U1-07) WSSIndex 5.29 [WSSI529A, WSSI529B] (Robert W. Babcock, ASP; reg.
fee: $38-53) is a program for keeping track of files stored on floppy or
hard disks.
-----File Managers
File_Man 4.3 [FMAN430] (MicroMetric, ASP; reg. fee: $40) will display a
directory and file names, sorted by name, extension, date or size. Files or
file groups can then be marked to be copied, moved, erased, renamed, have
attributes changed, etc. It also features the ability to store up to 18
macros, a directory tree of each drive can be displayed with a single
keystroke and shows up to six levels of directories.

powerful file manager with a double directory display. NEW: improved mouse

(U1-08) DiskALog 3.22 [DLOG322] (Philip P. Kapusta, reg. fee: $16) is a
combination Read-and-Run type program plus file manager.

AutoCMS 1.1a [AUTOCMS] (Dick Koster, ASP; reg. fee: $0-5) reads tape-search
dumps from the Colorado Tape Backup System'sTAPE.EXE file and creates an
ASCII delimited output file suitable for importing into most databases.
This saves you from having to create each volume's catalog file separately.
Data Protector 1.03 [DATAPROT] (PIGAS Inc., ASP; reg. fee: $35) protects
data in your PC against unauthorized access. Data become totally
unavailable even when using a powerful disk utility or booting from a
diskette. Features include protection for files and directories, unlimited
number of users, full report about authorized and unauthorized activity in
the system, simple login and logout program, fast hide and open operation,
configuration program and mouse support. Requires 512K memory and 1MB of
free disk space.
Drives 1.5 [DRIV15] (MarshallSoft Computing, Inc., reg. fee: $0) will
display the volume label, total space, used and free space in kilobytes or
megabytes for a specified range of logical drives.
GetBack 2.10 [GETBACK] (MicroTools Inc, ASP; reg. fee: $35) performs backup
tasks from a graphical user interface. It features batch mode operation,
point and click file selection, multiple drive support, network
compatibility, and asks only for disks required on recovery.

shows head, cylinder, and sector counts for CMOS setup parameters on all
IDE hard drives in your system.
(U1-09) MegaBack 2.3 [MBACK230] (Patri-Soft, ASP; reg. fee: $44-64) is a
fast, easy-to-use hard disk backup utility with many sophisticated features.
(U1-09) Sleep 1.20 [SLEEP] (EnQue Software and Consulting, reg. fee: $0)
will enable your IDE hard disk drive's power-saving feature by allowing it
to spin down after a period of non-use.
(U1-09) TSUtil 1.3 [TSUTIL] (George Tihenea, reg. fee: $25-40) lets you
create partitions or format existing partitions on your hard drive.

Change Drive and Directory 1.0 [CDD_HHG] (Harry Henry Gebel, reg. fee: $0)
allows you to change to any drive and directory with one set of keystrokes.
Directory Maven 1.0 [DMAVEN1] (Kent Briggs, ASP; reg. fee: $0) displays a
graphical tree representation of all drives in your system, including
network and hidden drives. You can change to a directory or subdirectory by
highlighting the name, or begin typing the name and the closest match will
be highlighted.
JCD 1.0 [JCD01] (Joel Pinker, reg. fee: $5-10) allows you to change
subdirectories by entering a partial name. If there are two or more
subdirectories with the same letters you've entered, they will be listed to
allow you to choose which one you want to change to.
WatchDSK 1.06 [WATCHD] (Douglas R. Nebeker, reg. fee: $35) keeps track of
disk space on a hard disk or network. It computes a total size for
subdirectories and stores this value for comparison later. This allows you
to see where the disk space has gone by comparing side-by-side the current
and previous directory sizes.

Cards For DOS (BETA) 1.0 [C4D] (Frank Font, reg. fee: $4) allow you to view
Windows card files in DOS.
Find Text Fast 4.0 [FTF] (Harold Schwartz, reg. fee: $10) searches text
files for specified text and displays text before and after the target so
that you can determine if it is the file you are searching for. It searches
all files in a directory and optionally in its subdirectories.
Find Text Fast 4.0 [FTF40] (Harold Schwartz, ASP; reg. fee: $10) finds text
files by searching across all or specified drives for a key word or phrase
in the file. A portion of each occurrence of the search will appear along
with the path for the file where it is contained.
Hlist & Plus 1.0 [HLIST10] (Denis Sureau, reg. fee: $0-20) contains a
graphical, ASCII file viewer and other utilities. It will load a file of
any size and lines up to 256 characters long. RUN searches for a program on
the disk, changes to its directory and runs it. GO searches for a directory
and changes to it. Requires a 286 or better and VGA.
SnapShot 1.0 [SNAP10] (HFK Software, ASP; reg. fee: $20) is a 15K TSR which
captures text from a screen to be automatically typed back later.
